The province produces 80 000 tons of high quality teas. The climate is ideal, the land is well irrigated and the know-how exists for several centuries. Amoung the green and white teas the Silver Hill and the Yu Yu Chacan be singled out; subtle, elegant and thirst quenching. The Golden Xian can be singled out amoung the red teas and is characterized by its delicious well rounded and subtle force.
The Pu’Er teas are harvested four times a year. After being rolled the leaves are dried in the open air and are then vaporized until they regain their softness. They are then compressed into different sized and shaped molds in which they are fermented and aged.
