China is known for being the traditional tea producing country. The Chinese tea tree is one of the two principal tea trees with that of the Assam. This tea tree is known to give the fabulous green “carpet” in the tea plantations. Historically, China is the most ancient producer of tea and continues to be an inexhaustible source. A dozen provinces in the south of China (Yunnan, Sichuan, Fujian, Anhui, Hunan, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Henan, Hubei, Guangdong, Guangxi, Jiangxi, and Huizhou) produce an incomparable variety and quality of tea. A famous Chinese proverb says “An entire life is not enough to know all of the Chinese teas”. “The country of 10 000 teas” produces 750 000 tons a year, in 19 provinces.
